Le Parfait Paris is the newest little Parisian hot spot located at 555 G St. in a bustling part of Downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp. It’s clean and simplistic decor whispers French elegance, while its black and white color palette keeps it very edgy and modern. The attention to detail from this place is more than just what meets the eye, even the components of the café tables are reminiscent of the Eiffel tower. This French Bakery offers a wide range of rich and delicate desserts. Their specialty is the decadent in-house crafted macaroons boasting an array of flavors like peanut butter, pumpkin, pistachio and lemon—just to name a few.

Their grand opening evening on December 5th was a total success. The red carpet roll out was complete with all guests in cocktail attire and the halls decked to the nines for the holiday season. The masses were delighted by the musical stylings of Jason Whitmore on saxophone, highlighting the beats from DJ’s set of the evening. Served up was a menagerie of succulent morsels and specialty champagne cocktails, beer, and wine. Tray upon trays of miniature fruit tarts and cheesecakes were available for the guest’s enjoyment. Among those was the Parfait Signature (Le Royal). As the story goes, this one was specifically created centuries ago to please the royal court of Versailles. ‘It is a smooth almond biscuit and praline crisp glittery puff subtly combined to create an exquisite experience. Add an unctuous dark chocolate mousse to the mix, and you obtain a dessert that blends almonds and chocolate in perfect harmony.’ This delicious symphony of flavors sings on the palate and melts on the mouth leaving you wanting the next bite.

Their expertise may lay heavily on the sweeter side of things, but Le Parfait Paris is equally exquisite at crafting savory fare as well. Specialty coffee drinks, custom salads and sandwiches also adorn their menu for daytime noshing. The list goes on with fresh baked baguettes, croissants and loaves all available for purchase. Among the savory options included were perfectly tiny quiches and warm bacon wrapped dates injected with cheese. Both of these freshly created items were baked to perfection. The unique merriment of sweet and savory of the bacon, date and cheese stood alone as a fan favorite. When baked, the date seemed to swell with the drippings from the thick cut bacon as the cheese wove itself inside every nook and cranny of the caramelized date. Throughout the evening and as the night wound down, it became increasingly clear to all the attendees the relentless passion behind the craft of this Parisian inspired gem. Le Parfait Paris will be known for not only for its on point bakery items and café offerings, but its keen attention to detail on everything they do. Needless to say, this bakery comes full circle. Hitting a high note and taking your mouth by storm with a little taste of Paris in each bite.
